Compliments
I dominated on the basketball court on Friday, and guys were telling me about how they couldn't stop me or wow what good shooting, I don't know how to respond. I naturally feel like I should toss a compliment back their way, but what can I say? "Yeah, I know. Well, you're not very good. Many of you aren't. I would have prevented your breakaway lay-up, but I was too lazy, and it's 90 degrees out here."

Just a simple "Thanks," is all you need.
Or self-deprecating humor: "Well, if I shoot enough times, a few shots are bound to fall."
But don't compliment someone if it's insincere -- the other person can always tell you're lying.
