My Day of Redemption
Gift cards, store credit, and "get-ten-stamps-and-get-one-free" cards bring
stress. With money, I already know I must keep track of it. Bills and coins...
yeah, don't worry about them expiring anytime soon. I can handle carrying one
credit card.
But when the dregs of payment options happen my way, I've got to use them up as
soon as possible. If I have those other cards, I've got to either carry them
always until I redeem them, or remember to take them from home when I know
beforehand that I will be able to use them. Sometimes it will rule my schedule.
I made a point to go to an area with a Jamba Juice store the other day. Made
sure I got rid of those damn 40 cents on that damn card. Didn't stop there.
Went to Albertson's to use the $5 off a $25 purchase coupon before it expired.
I have the 10 stamps on my Quizno's card needed for $5 off my next purchase. I
used to go there quite often with co-workers. For some reason, we stopped going
there, so I haven't been able to use it yet. It supposedly expired on January 1,
2005. But I'm not giving up on it. Maybe I can puppydogeyes the cashier into my
well-deserved discount.
It bothers the heck out of me that I still have $7 left on an AMC gift card.
